This letter means a lot to me as Tache developed Sudden Acquired Retinal Degeneration Syndrome, known as SARDS. This is an uncommon autoimmune disorder that seems to be showing up more often these days. Why is anyone's guess. Imagine waking up one day and your dog is suddenly blind with no warning and to find that there is no cure, no tests for it, or no medications to moderate it. Programs such as UCD's are needed to study SARDS and other disorders that are not understood or able to be treated with our current knowledge.
